Everybody at Sykes & Son Limited is proud of our 260 year history and keen to help leave a positive legacy for future generations. But what sets us apart from our competitors?
In 2016 we started a consultation process with staff and clients to define our culture and to articulate what makes us unique. This would help us to ensure that we consistently deliver a high-quality service and support the high quality brand of Sykes.
The result was our “four pillars” that reference the key initiatives that set us apart from our competitors:
1. We build relationships
2. We bring expertise
3. We are professional
4. We always care

Charity
As a business at the heart of London we take responsibility for adding value to the communities in which we operate. Sykes have supported a number of charitable initiatives over a large number of years including: The Sick Children’s Trust, EveryYouth, Halow Project, The Lighthouse Club, Recycling Lives and many more.
Every year, Sykes selects a charity that we primarily support. For two years now, we have been proud to support the important work that Hestia does.
Hestia supports over 20,000 adults and children in crisis, including people who have endured domestic abuse, modern slavery, or mental health crisis.
They offer emergency support in specialist accommodation such as domestic abuse refuges, modern slavery safe houses or mental health recovery houses. They help people in their own homes or meet them in the community at Mental Health Crisis Cafes. Across all of these settings, their mission is to help people find a life after crisis and trauma, providing them with safety, hope and purpose.
If you are interested supporting Hestia, you can do it here: Sykes & Son are fundraising for Hestia | Hestia
Currently, we have raised nearly £15k and counting for Hestia, twenty-two of our staff have volunteered for a collective 139 hours, with 260 service users attending our volunteer-led events. Some of these events include hosting a Christmas party, a family sports day and an arts and crafts event.

We look forward to hosting more events with Hestia and supporting the important work that they do within the community.
