Sykes & Son have an on-going relationship with Whites Club, a Grade I listed gentleman’s club in Piccadilly and London’s oldest club, founded in 1736. Sykes have completed several projects over a period of 4 years working at Whites Club.

Most recently, Sykes were employed to refurbish the members Coffee Room.

The strip out of the Coffee Room commenced in December ahead of the Christmas shutdown. The 8 week programme concluded at the end of February to strict deadlines, imposed due to a series of functions booked which could not be cancelled or moved.

High quality decorative finishes work included cleaning the existing gilding, hanging of new flock wallpaper and gilding the chair rail and skirting with 23ct best English gold leaf and then toning down to match the existing.

Works generally included a full renovation with complete redecoration of walls and ceilings, replacement of electrical installation, replacement of 5no air conditioning units and bespoke joinery installation.

Internal and external scaffolding was erected including a full birdcage scaffold to provide adequate safety and access platforms for works to the ceiling including the electrical and air conditioning works around the perimeter.
