Sykes were employed to carry out a £1m Design and Build fit-out of a 5th floor office in Victoria to house ENIs oil trading team and associated support staff.

The project needed to achieve tight deadlines to meet their oil trading requirements, in order that ENI could continue to operate a strategically important part of their business.

The open plan floor was fitted out, with glazed partitions, a new comms room, new reception area, flooring and decoration works. A run and standby dedicated cooling solution was installed to serve the comms and UPS rooms. A new UPS was installed to provide emergency cover to the oil trading operations.

Work was phased in order that non-critical areas (office support) were handed over after the trading floor and completed out of hours behind suitable hoardings.

Sykes delivered the project on time and on budget by operating a double shift for periods of the work and extensive weekend working to minimise disruption to business hours.

Sykes began working with ENI in 1994, whilst they were operating under their former name of AGIP Oil. Today, Sykes deliver a Facilities Management service to ENI to their London estate. ENI are the 5th largest Oil Company in the world. The particular challenges of the contract include ensuring that there are the appropriate levels of resilience to support the day to day operation of the company within demanding, live premises. It is critical that services are maintained around the clock given the nature of ENIs operations globally.
